Picking a college is based on a lot of things. What do you want to major in? Everyone might say one of those schools is the best, but it won't matter if they don't offer the program you're interested in. Also if you not from Florida, some schools might charge a lot more then others for out of state students
Answer 2 :
University of Central Florida is in Orlando area. Florida State is in Tallahassee. University of Florida is in Gainesville. And although I am a native I am not sure where FUA is located. You need to figure out what field you want to go into and then attend the college has the best program for that field. If more than one of the schools has good classes in the field you want to study then you need to figure out which one has the lowest cost of living. Orlando is more expensive than Gainesville but University of South Florida in Tampa has a lower cost of living than Gainesville.
Answer 3 :
You should also consider UNF. It's a great school and less expensive than those you listed.
Answer 4 :
FSU!
Answer 5 :
It depends on your degree. I think UCF is the best cause it has a nice campus, alot of stuff to do there including disney, the beach is only a couple of hours away, It's a nice college town seperated by the big city of orlando. FSU and UF is a non commuter school cause its mainly a college town. You may not think this, but when your in a college town, bascially if may be a tad easier to meet people cause everyone lives on campus. I don't know if UCF is a commuterr school or not, but it is in a big city, while FSU and UF are in small college town. There is a difference between UF and FSU, and that is the fact that FSU is more diverse, and they have an African American college right next to FSU so there is a higher percentage of African Americans there. I don't know about UF, but FSU has a high crime rate. It is 6th in the nation. I see UF has more whites, and more preppy. There are 4 chools you have not mention and thats USF, FGCU, . USF is a good school, but it is more of a commuter school. It is also highly diverse. It is a big school, but alot of people don't live on campus, so it may be harder to meet people there. Depending on your major, it may be good to go to USF. The downside to USF is that it is rated 2nd in crime, and I don't think the school spirt is really good. If you like a smaller school, you may want to go to FGCU Florida Gulf Coast University. It is public, but a smaller school. They have apartments on campus, not dorms. There is the beach, but other then that kinna boring to some people. If you like the laid back, small college, and just chill with a few people, you might want to consider. This school is not really diverse, so there are a higher percentage of whites that go there. UWF is up in the Panhandle. With this school, you are dealing with mainly conservative christians, and if you really like that this school may be good for you too, but if you don't like that thing then don't go there. There is also a christian college right next to UWF. This school is not that diverse. UNF is in Jax, and something you may want to consider, but don't know much about it expect that it's a small school

I just graduated from FIU in Miami, which I chose to stay near my family. But in retrospect, I regret not having gone to UCF. I looked into these other choices you are looking at, and for what I was looking for, UCF was the best of them. It's not really a commuter campus, because it's very north in Orlando, so you still get the college town feel there, but you are close enough to the other parts of Orlando to get that big city feel. USF, not a big fan of. FSU is a good college for business majors, but it's too much of a party school in my opinion. Same with UF, plus Gainesville is a very blah city. FAU is a very nice campus, but I've heard the programs there aren't so great.

FSU is a good school & reasonably affordable. It's in Tallahassee so traffic can be a little busy, but there's plenty cultural stuff to do in the town, rent is cheap (comparatively, for Florida) and there's lots of cool restaurants and "college bars" as well as two very good independent coffee houses. It can be difficult to find a job here, the best times are late summer and around Christmas time, and late spring. UCF is a good school but management takes forever to do things, so you'll have to keep good track of all your records. There is a lot of "red tape" to deal with. Rent in Orlando can vary widely, you will have to pay a higher price to live closer to UCF and be in a good neighborhood. Orlando is very commercialized, so there's lots of "chain" places to go. Traffic in Orlando is INSANE. People are mean & reckless. Be very careful if you choose to walk anywhere or ride your bike. The bus system in Orlando is pretty good, so you don't NEED a car to get around in most areas, and the buses have bike racks so you can ride your bike to the bus-stop and from it to make the trek easier. FAU is an expensive school and the area is VERY expensive to live in. Unless you have a lot of money to go out, be prepared to stay home all the time. Beaches are nice in Jupiter, but things can get crowded. As far as UF goes, I never went there or lived in the Gainesville area, so there isn't much I can tell you about that other than it's a college town. I think it's also cheap to live there because friends that went to UF told me it was. What I can tell you about UF is that it is the most difficult school to get in. Most Freshmen they admit are in the top 10% of their graduating class and scored 1250 or better on their SAT. I have lived in Orlando and went to UCF, I also lived in the West Palm Beach area, and I currently live in the Tallahassee area where I will be attending FSU. So my experience is my reference for the information I've given you. I hope it helps! Regardless of which school you decide on, you're going to need some good scores on the SAT, ACT, or a very high GPA to get in, because it̢۪s pretty competitive to get in the fall. By competitive I mean that even if you have a 3.0 GPA, if you score 1000 on the SAT they might turn you down for the fall. So apply early. If they don't accept you for the fall, if you call them and ask about the summer term they will probably cut you some slack (more from personal experience here). I'm sure you get great grades and get high scores though, so you will be fine. Good luck!
