Is moving from Maryland to Miami beach florida for college, is it worth it

Is moving from Maryland to Miami beach florida for college, is it worth it?
Im really considering moving to miami florida for college, because there's a lot of modeling agencies i want to intern in and stuff. I don't wanna move to New york because when i visited my aunt last summer i so realized im not a Huge city person. i only like the idea of new York to get into the entertainment biz and to work for magazines. California is just to far away from my family but all the top notch business are out there so far :(

What Florida 4 year college/colleges are easy to get into

What Florida 4 year college/colleges are easy to get into?
Ok I averaged around a 2.7 or higher in high school (around the 2.6 range 1-3yr and straight 3.0s senior year). I have also jsut taken the ACTs for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I have been in community college for about 2 years, but have absolutely no credits because of dropping classes due to work. But now I am finally ready to actually enroll into school full time and make that my main focus so I can graduate. So I am looking to go to a university down in florida like FGCU, FAU, or FIU. And I really dont think I have a chance into any. Does anyone know what I have to do to get into these schools or have I already done enough? Any information is helpful and very appreciated.

Answer 3 :
any in the state of Florida, we welcome under achievers
Answer 4 :
FSU, UNF and all private schools. sounds terrible of me to say, but FIU will take anyone. I went to USF after turning down Princeton, UF, UM, stetson, UCF, FAU, NYU and GW ... and i definetly dont regret it. a good place to compare all of them is www.princetonreview.com GOOD LUCK!!!

Hello. From what I know about FAU, you probably don't have much of a shot without a really good standardized (ACT/SAT) score. FAU only accepts about ~50% of people who apply and since they're becoming a bigger school, they're being more selective -- much like UCF. I really don't know how you'd fare at FIU, although again it's worth a shot if you have a decent standardized test score. I do know that FGCU is really new (I believe less than 20 years old) and newer colleges usually want to expand so they'll take on students with lower-than-average scores. However, if nonoe of that works out for you, you can always continue with community college, get your Associate's, and basically walk into any college in Florida (FAU, UCF, FSU, UF). Florida has a weird system that way and it's funny because you have people absolutely killing themselves trying to get into UF and then other people who barely break 1000 on their SAT get accepted there. Anyway, good luck to you! Go Owls!
