I'm from out of state and plan to move to florida. What is the most affordable community college? I plan to get an associate's degree in Information Technology......then hopefully get a Master's in in since I already have a BA in Liberal Arts. Help?

i am currently living in florida and want to go to college in nc

i am currently living in florida and want to go to college in nc?
i make good grades, have a 3.5 gpa right now and live in florida and want to go to a north carolina college and am relying on getting a scholarship and definitely cant pay out of state tuition and the thing is, as much as I hate florida i have a garunteed scholarships if i keep my gpa over 3.5 and do ok on the sat for a free ride at a florida college, but i really dont like this place and want to go back home in nc and would like to go to college and if i can do it on a scholarship it would be really nice. does anyone know what kind of scholarships i would qualify for or what I can do? i already no what school i want to go to, i've known for years, it has a special program for me to be able to major in two things that aren't very similar

Answer 1 :
I always wonder why people don't just study in their city. It's not the school, it's yourself who makes it worthwhile or not
Answer 2 :
Sounds like you are working on the problem from the wrong direction. Try finding a school you'd like to attend and work with their financial aid department to get in and money. If all else fails, you can always get the Fl gig.
Answer 3 :
In my opinion, since you have a guaranteed scholarship in Florida, you should suck it up and finish your courses there. Meantime, contact the financial aid department of the school you do want to attend and have them advise you. They'll have the inside track on all of the scholarship programs that are available, as well as deadlines and requirements. Sandy
Answer 4 :
If I were you, I would keep my options in both states. However, the free ride given by the government of Florida might evaporate if you do not take advantage of it if not taken the fall semester or quarter immediately after you graduate from high school. I do not recommend going to a college or university where you would have some student loans as a part of your financial aid package if possible. Out of state tuition tends to be a lot higher than in state. You could always do your masters or graduate work in North Carolina as an option. I will share with you some free resources to locate money for college. First, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major's website will list scholarships, too. Second, the public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web. Third, the high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships and state scholarships & grants. Fourth, a campus work study job can help with money needed during the school year. The program is funded by the federal government. It will be a job on campus and most times can work to your availability schedule. There should be a box on the FAFSA form for it. Fifth, fill out the FAFSA form after January 1 of your senior year of high school. It will qualify her for need based financial aid from the federal government and the school itself. It will come in the form of scholarships, Pell Grant, student loans, and the work study program. Sixth, study and practice for the SAT or ACT tests. It can help bring merit scholarships from the college itself. Seventh, states do offer grant and scholarships for students with excellent grades. Search Google.com and Yahoo.com for these grants and scholarships with your state's name. Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. There are scholarships for a variety of things including ethnicity, clubs, hobbies, and even wearing duct tape to the high school prom. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on information entered onto a form on the website. Good luck!

Answer 1 :
It totally depends on your college GPA upon transferring. Your GPA and SAT are pretty average, so an average school you could get into as of right now. No U of Florida, Miami, or Florida State just yet. But do extremely well in your community college and its plausible.
Answer 2 :
West Florida?

Trip to Florida for recent college graduates

Trip to Florida for recent college graduates?
We are planning a trip to Florida after college graduation and are looking for a spot on the beach in Florida. We are looking for a place other than Panama City. We are hoping to rent a condo right on the beach, or close to the beach, in a town/city that has some night life attractions. Any ideas for us. Thank you

Answer 1 :
Sounds like you're too old for the Panama City scene. Come down to the real Florida...South Florida. Miami or Ft. Lauderdale will suit you nicely.
Answer 2 :
Downtown Ft. Lauderdale is a really cool place to be for nightlife, lots of clubs and venues and overall interesting places to visit. However, South Beach is where the party's at. Lots of commotion at any given time, and the beaches are great. South Point being one of the best beaches, which consists mostly a fun young crowd.
