Answer 1 :
Your credits will transfer if (a) the community college was regionally accredited, (b) you got a C or better in the classes, and (c) the school you're transferring to offers the same class.
Answer 2 :
I would first get in contact with the school you want to transfer to, and ask them about how to transfer your credits. Most likely you will need to send them your transcripts and they will review them and decide on which ones will transfer. Sometimes you take a class such as "Business communication" at one school, and when you go to transfer it your new school may count it as your "communications" class even though you didn't take the exact course they wanted you to. As far as how many credits will transfer, it all depends on the school and what they decide is sufficient. Good luck!

I live in California and want to attend a college university in Florida

I live in California and want to attend a college university in Florida?
I want to major in Psychiatry and Florida State University has a college of medicine. I'm not sure if "college of medicine" covers psychiatry though...does it? I know that Florida State University offers Psychology but there's a difference between psychology and psychiatry...

Answer 1 :
psychiatry IS Medicine. HELLO........................................
Answer 2 :
Stay in California. Florida is a terrible place.
Answer 3 :
Florida doesn't quite qualify as studying abroad.
Answer 4 :
To become A Psychologist would mean earning a bachelors degree in Psychology, and then attending Grad. school for an additional 3 years. With this masters degree you are qualified to counsel patients, but you are NOT allowed to prescribe medications. Also this course of education it is a lot harder to find a job. To become a Psychiatrist you also have to earn a bachelors degree in Psychology, and than you have to go on to medical school. With this degree you are ALLOWED to per scribe medications, and it is a lot easier to find a job. Which one you go for all depends on what you want to do for a career. A Psychologist spends more time talking with a patients and finds ways to solve their problems w/out the help of medications. Whereas a psychiatrist has a higher volume of patients, so they cannot spend the time to get to know everyone of them and help them to solve their problems w/out medications. The big question in decide ding which Field to go into is: Do you want to counsel, or do you want to prescribe?
Answer 5 :
they do not have much to offer at florida state i hope you meant university of florida(Gainesville)where there are six psychiatric divisions and help the private sector too. the standards and gpa requirements are much higher at u.of florida and reputation is recognized at u.of f . all over the usa. as it is recognized at the best state school in the nation. try to compare a california community college to stanford. http://www.psychiatry.ufl.edu/divisions.shtml and for admissions http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/ugrad/admissreq.html
Answer 6 :
That is a kind of question you should forward to the FSU. I believe you may study psychiatry after completing the couse of medicine. And you could it everywhere.

Which Florida college would you recommend

Which Florida college would you recommend?
I'm a Canadian student going to school in the states and have my choice of pretty much anywhere i want to go, Florida is looking like an appealing location(weather, parties, good schools). My top 2 choices right now are FSU and UF, which do you think has more to offer? Feel free to mention any other colleges you think I should be looking at.

Answer 1 :
UF is definitely a lot better if you can get in and afford it, but if you don't get FSU is still good just not as good as UF. I think UF has better parties and is better academic wise. Good Luck!
