Any one go to a Florida State college?
I want to know what school you go to and what you think really of the College. Are they fair? Easy or hard? $$$? Living? I am planing to go to a Florida school so any info would help. I am 20. Have an AA from MDC, and a not so high GPA. And will be paying for it myself. Thanks.

Didn't attend, but I'm very partial to the University of Florida, in Gainesville. Beautiful campus, beautiful town, easy to get around in. Tallahassee is a whole other world.
Answer 2 :

I go to a Florida college! To me, it seems that most high schoolers who don't get into UF go to either FSU or UCF (at my school at least, but then I didn't go to a very big school). UCF is known to have one of the biggest campuses in the U.S with a very nice gym and the school is still expanding. Since the campus is so big and modern, it has great amenities from maid services that come with the dorm to a wide variety of places to eat on campus. Plus, it's a public school, so unless you're from out of state, it's not too expensive. Ironically, it's not academically on top. If you do very well in school, you can probably get into a better school. But if the size of the campus and the amenities are important to you, UCF is a great choice. If you prefer academics and don't mind a crappier campus, you can try other schools. In Florida, academically, University of Florida and University of Miami are on top. UCF probably has the nicest campus though

Answer 1 :
Very Diverse -- Does Miami sound familiar? Fun is too broad. UCF in Orlando is good for the parks USF-Tampa for clubs For jobs, go north of the state (the Republican part) we in the south are not doing too good with the housing market
Answer 2 :
UF is the top school in florida Um is on follw up UM is about 30.000 a year UF is about 13,000 (out of state) (3,000) in state both party schools. UM more diverese but its in Miami;housing crisis is bad I would go to UF
Answer 3 :
UF and North Florida is not doing very well either. University of Miami hasn't had to go through a $47 million budget cut like UF just did this past year. Gainesville pretty much depends on UF for jobs since it is such a small city and UF has made a lot of budget cuts and job layoffs. So finding a job here is very hard and the housing market is completely dead. It went from 80 Residential Permits issued a month to an average of 12 residential permits issued. I would suggest University of Miami, it has a ton of stuff to do there and is very diverse. University of Central Florida outside of Orlando and University of South Florida in Tampa are good choices also. They are near big cities and the beach and are a lot more diverse than Gainesville. I have lived in Gainesville (UF) for that past 5 years and I can tell you this. You will not be able to find a good job in Gainesville unless you are part of the good old boy network, especially if you want to get a job at UF.

Is South West Florida College a good school for an education major

Is South West Florida College a good school for an education major?
or in general? If not what is a good school in FL?

Answer 1 :
It is proprietary and I cannot imagine that you'd get a better education there than at any one of dozens of public institutions - plus it will be much more expensive. Also, I am not at all confident that their so-called "accreditation" is accepted by Florida's department of education for teacher certification. Make sure that you check this out with the state, not with the school. I suspect that they will train you, at great cost, to be a "teacher's aide" or an "early childhood worker." Can't you get that training at much lower cost at the local community college? Bottom line - don't do it. Go to one of the free online services such as College Matchmaker, enter your personal information and see what schools are accepting students with your qualifications. You can localize the schools with education programs by requesting schools within 20 miles or so of your zip code.
