What is the better community college in Florida

What is the better community college in Florida?
I need to move away if I ever want to finish school, b/c there are too many distractions in my hometown for me to focus. I am considering Santa Fe in Gainesville, or somewhere in Tampa (haven't really looked into any of them). So if anyone could give me some info. on SFCC or some schools in Tampa I would appreciate it.

Answer 1 :
Check into St. Petersburg College. It is really nice and has a great reputation.
Answer 2 :
Hmm.. I know a ton of people that go to Sante Fe. Honestly, they only go there in hopes that if they do, it'll help them get into UF. More often than not, it doesn't. I'd probably look into a community college in Tampa. Let's be realistic. There's barely anything in Gainesville. It's practically desolate and you probably won't have too much fun unless you love hanging out at the local Wal-mart, lol. The Tampa community is more enjoyable. I'm sure you'd have lots of fun living there.

College in Florida to become a cop

College in Florida to become a cop?
I am thinking about becoming a cop. Are there any colleges in Florida for becoming a cop?

Answer 1 :
**** the police.
Answer 2 :
Even if you get a relevant degree, there is no guarantee that any law enforcement agency will hire you - keep that in mind. There are about 35 schools in Florida that offer degree programs in such fields as Criminal Justice Studies, Criminalistics/Criminal Science, Law Enforcement Administration, or Police Science. Many are community colleges and that is a great place to start. Here is how you find one close to you: Go to collegeboard.com, and in its college search service enter public colleges for type of school, for location put a reasonable commute from your zip code, and for major search using the word "police." If you are serious, make sure that you take courses in computer forensics - even if you don't get hired to be on the street, there is a huge demand for this skill in law enforcement. Good luck - we need more educated and thoughtful peace officers.

Florida Southern College: Getting a bike or motorcycle

Florida Southern College: Getting a bike or motorcycle?
I'm going to be a freshman at florida southern college, i was wondering what the best option would be for the area: a vespa type scooter or a simple bicycle?
Motorcycles - 3 Answers

Answer 1 :
A bicycle is rather limited in speed and range. A scooter takes you further, faster, effortlessly. Not to mention a reasonable amount of lockable storage. A 150cc scooter is freeway legal so you can go visit the Keys or Everglades on weekends. A 150cc scooter can carry a female passenger on the pillion.
Answer 2 :
Simple bicycle, no gas, no insurance, no worries about reliability, good workout. NOW if you wanted to get an actual motorcycle and not some toy (Vespa) I would go with the REAL motorcycle.
Answer 3 :
LOL. Some good advice here (not). Ride a 150cc scooter to Key West? A FIVE HOUR DRIVE WITH REDNECKS IN PICKUPS TAILGATING YOU? Good luck with that. The driver's in SoFL are DANGEROUS. Save your $$$ for a car (with as many airbags as possible). DO NOT RIDE A MOTORCYCLE or SCOOTER in SoFL!

Do you have to attend a Florida university/college to transfer to University of Florida

Do you have to attend a Florida university/college to transfer to University of Florida?
I go to a university in Georgia, but I plan on applying for my junior year as a transfer student for University of Florida. I was reading the admissions site for Florida, and I didn't completely understand. Do you have to transfer from a school in Florida to go to University of Florida or can I try transferring from my university?

Answer 1 :
Just call up the admission office at the UF and ask.
Answer 2 :
Unfortunately, I think you do, unless you want to pay out-of-state tuition. I'm in your same situation. I just started at the Univ. of GA but had always wanted to go to college in Florida.
