I want to study to be a vet, what must i study in florida college

I want to study to be a vet, what must i study in florida college?
I'm a junior in college living in Florida. What Florida school would be best to study to become a vet? What courses should I take? How long does it take? After college do I need to go to some special vet school or something? I know that UCF (university of central florida) has a pre-vet program but do I need to major in something else and then go to that program or go straight into that program? Thanks a million. xox

Becoming a veterinarian is a super long process, and you need to be in it for nothing else than the desire to help animals and help owners properly take care of their animals. Veterinarians do not make nearly as much as they are worth, and they do not make nearly enough to compensate for their ridiculous student loans. Anyway, in college you can major in anything you would like, as long as the veterinary school prerequisites are met. Although it varies some from school to school, you need to have a minimum of two semesters of writing, four semesters of biology, four semesters of chemistry, two semesters of physics, upper level math, and more. When people complete these, basically you're 90% done with they Biology major, which is why many people choose to major in biology. Then, you need to apply to veterinary medicine school, which is typically year round for 4.25 years. It's super intensive! Plus, competition for veterinary school is high. Best of luck!

You are a junior in college already? You should have taken almost all your pre-vet courses by now. So you are either way behind or confused about what pre-vet. You do pre-vet which is the vet school pre-regs as your undergrad, bachelors degree, then you apply to vet school (more than one)-there are only 23 in the country This is a doctorate level program of 4 years (like med school). Is there an adviser at the college you attend? You need to talk to them ASAP. To graduate and then apply to a pre vet program is completely backward.

Is it easier to transfer to University of Florida from Sante Fe College than from a 4-yr university

Is it easier to transfer to University of Florida from Sante Fe College than from a 4-yr university?
Sante Fe College is supposedly a pipeline community college for University of Florida, but I'm having some doubts about going there.

Here is what is awesome about Florida by law if you earn your A.A and you meet the qualifications to enter your degree program (cuz you will be a junior and you have to go to the school of your major) no public Florida university can turn you down. This includes UF, FSU, FAU etc etc

If you just want simple rankings, Flordia State University, University of Florida, and University of Miami are considered by US News and Reports to be the top Florida schools overall. Let me give you some advice though. The college you graduate from, as long as it is decent and accredited, means little in med school admissions. You'll need experience in a hospital setting, very good letters of recommendations, a good MCAT score, and a good GPA as well as meet their prerequisite courses to even have a good chance at admission. Find a program you like and think you would be comfortable with and can graduate from with a good GPA. The GPA is a killer when it comes to med school applications, especially if your MCAT score is not outstanding.

Whats the best science college in florida

Whats the best science college in florida?
I want to major in physical chemistry, but I want to make sure I go to a good college for that. It has to be in florida. Also I have a 3.0 unweighted and a 3.5 weighted so I obviously want a college I can get into. I heard uf is good but I don't think I'd be able to get into it. Please supply reasons behind your answers. thank you :)

Look into FIT - not very high rated but they do have excellent science programs, and they're a bit easier to get into than UF.
