Florida College Grant For Loss of Parent

Florida College Grant For Loss of Parent?
I am a college student at a Florida University and I've heard that you can get a grant if you have suffered the loss of a parent, but I cant find info about it anywhere. I lost my mother due to an anuerysm when I was 13. Does anyone know where I can find info on this grant?

Answer 1 :
I've never heard of this, ask your counselor. Sorry about your loss, but I have to say, it seems they give people money these days for EVERYTHING except good grades. Black, Hispanic, Indian, Crippled, Woman, ......but straight up hard work and good grades? Pass....
Answer 2 :
If there was such a thing, then it would seem that the majority of students would be attending college for free. .... As it seems that everyone that has some personal issue - whether it be left-handedness, single-motherhood, lesbianism, minority, loss of parent - thinks they should be eligible for a free college education. Sorry, but nothing in life is free.
